BHUBANESWAR: On Thursday, Forest and Environment Minister Bijayshree Routray released the Bharatpur jungle safari for the public to allow them to discover flora and fauna on the city’s outskirts. Within the southeastern part of Chandaka-Dampara sanctuary, the Bharatpur wooded area unfolds over 20 sq. Km. The woodland is rich in biodiversity and domestic Asiatic elephants, noticed deer, wild pigs, honey badgers, porcupines, jungle cats, mongooses, civets, hares, pythons, and cobras.
Five open jungle safari vehicles were procured from the funds released through MCL and NALCO under their company’s social duty. Each automobile is ready with eight seats, and expenses for an entire car have been constant at `2,000 according to the trip. Two journeys have been organized from 6 am to 10 am, and one experience from 4 pm to 6 pm. The officials informed that online booking would commence within a week.
“Each traveler will pay `250 for a ride. In case there are fewer than eight visitors for a journey, and there may be no different reserving, they can ebook the automobile through paying `2,000,” Chandaka Divisional Forest Officer Kedar Swain informed The Express.
A nature camping program was held for Sai International School’s college kids at the event.
